By including a gift to Adara in your Will, you can leave a lasting legacy. It won’t cost anything today, but its impact will be felt in the future, for years to come.
Gifts in Wills of all sizes help us bring quality health and education services to people living in poverty. With your generous support, we can scale our work and transform whole communities, one life at a time.
Thanks to our business-for-purpose model, 100% of gifts in Wills go directly to our work with communities living in poverty in some of the world’s remotest places.
A gift in your Will can provide mothers like Jacqui with access to quality and respectful care during pregnancy and birth. It can also support young children like Raju to receive a quality education close to their home, protecting them from the dangers of child trafficking.
“Leaving a gift in your Will to Adara is a powerful way to create a lasting legacy of positive change. 100% of your gift will go directly to people living in poverty, allowing you to make a profound and enduring impact beyond your lifetime.”
Madeline Vaughan, CEO Adara Development
Suggested wording for your Will
The following suggested wording is provided for the guidance of your solicitor or trustee.
I give (insert benefit, either residual gift, a percentage or specific gift amount) to Adara Development (Australia) ABN 78 131 310 355 for its:
a) Maternal, Newborn and Child Health work
b) Remote Community Development work
c) General programmatic work
(choose one out of a,b,c)
I declare that the receipt given on behalf of Adara Development (Australia) will be a full discharge for my trustee who will not be bound to see its application.
We also have entities in Bermuda, UK and the USA. If you are based outside Australia and wish to donate to a different Adara entity, please email georgie.kershaw@adaragroup.org or contact us via the form below.
Amending your existing Will
If you already have a Will, there’s no need to start over to include a gift to Adara.
Instead, you can add a codicil, which is an additional clause to your existing Will. You can use the recommended wording provided above, and you must have two witnesses present when you sign and date your codicil.
Types of gifts in Wills
Once you have made the decision to leave a gift in your Will to Adara, it is important to let the people close to you know about your wishes.
Below are some of the different types of gifts you can leave to Adara:
- Residual gifts: after your Will has made all necessary provisions to loved ones, specific percentages of your remaining assets can be gifted to Adara.
- Specific gifts: this could be a specific sum of money, items, bonds or superannuation.
- Whole or part of your estate: the whole or a percentage of the residue of your estate can be gifted to Adara.
