Brandie is Adara’s Clinical Programmes Assistant.
Coming from the prairies in Saskatchewan, Canada, Brandie earned her BSN at the University of Saskatchewan. She completed her multi-month primary nursing care practicum in Niger, Africa, where she discovered her passion for global health.
After 11 years at Seattle Children’s Hospital as a paediatric nurse, she switched gears to focus on international development. Several years volunteering with Adara’s Seattle office led to her employment as a Clinical Programmes Assistant. She has aided in developing Adara’s clinical training programmes for the newborn care facilities at Kiwoko and Nakaseke Hospitals in Uganda. She has found it to be such satisfying work, especially during her in-country visits to Kiwoko Hospital.
In her personal time, Brandie enjoys spending time with her two sons and husband on the water and skiing. But one of her favourite things is experiencing the sights and sounds of traveling and visiting new countries.
